Q. What is a Public Adjuster?

A. A Public Adjuster is a professional insurance adjuster that represnts the interest of the policyholder, not the insurance company.

 

Q. Are you associated with my insurance company?

A. No, we are an independent firm hired by policyholders. We are your personal representative. We work exclusively for you.

 

Q.  I have insurance why do I need a Public Adjuster to help me?

A. The adjuster sent by your insurance company does not represent you; he or she represents the insurance company exclusively. Your policy clearly states that it is YOUR responsibility to present the claim to your insurance company and provide evidence to substantiate that claim. When you hire a Public Adjuster, they will prepare all aspects of your insurance claim and present it your insurance company on your behalf. Your Public Adjuster will make sure you comply with all the conditions of your policy and prepare all documents to establish your claim. A Public Adjuster works exclusively for you to maximize and expedite your claim.  

 

Q. Why Can’t I handle my own claim?     

A. You may handle your claim yourself; however, a licensed Public Adjusters knows policy coverage thoroughly. They are familiar with the claims process and insurance procedures. Claims’ adjusting is a highly specialized field. Submitting an insurance claim is a difficult task. It takes time, knowledge, experience, and hard work to reach a proper and satisfactory settlement. After a devastating loss most insureds simply do not have the time, experience, or resources to complete a comprehensive investigation of the damages.

 

Q. How do you get paid for your services?

A. We get paid an agreed percentage of the insurance claim once we reach a settlement with your insurance company. We do not charge any up front or out of pocket fees from you. If a settlement is not collected you do not pay anything.

 

Q. Do you make repairs or handle restoration?

A. No, we do not handle the construction process or make repairs of any kind. Our purpose is to negotiate your claim with your insurance company and see that your claim is paid fairly. You may hire any licensed contractor you desire once we reach a settlement with your insurance company. 

 

Q. Will you deal with my insurance company directly?

A. Yes, your insurance company will recognize United Claims Adjusting Company as your representative. We will maintain all communication with your insurance company, schedule inspections of the damaged property, and provide all documentation as necessary. We will keep you up-to-date on the status of your claim until a settlement is reached.
